Motanka dolls are the heart of Ukrainian tradition. Usually a woman and always faceless, the Motanka doll represents the spirit of the home and the continuity of life. Ancestors believed these dolls protected the house and family from evil spirits, carried positive thoughts, and connected us to Mother Earth. Made with cloth, ribbons, and natural fabric, they are talismans of well-being.
